Connectivity in United States
Coverage across the United States is strong in cities and along the interstate network, and genuinely absent in stretches of the mountain west, the desert southwest and many national parks, including well-known ones such as Zion and Yellowstone. Which network a plan roams onto matters more here than in most of Europe, since rural coverage footprints differ sharply between American carriers rather than converging on similar infrastructure. Public transport in cities such as New York or Chicago is largely card-based rather than app-dependent, so day-to-day data use in urban areas tends to centre on maps and ride-hailing rather than ticketing. Anyone planning a long road trip through the national parks or across open desert stretches should download offline maps in advance, since gaps there can run for well over an hour of driving.
Coverage and hotspot
These plans run on the operators listed above. Coverage follows those networks, so it is strongest in cities and along main routes.
Hotspot: we can't confirm this for this plan — message us before you buy if you need to share your connection.

Before you buy
Is your phone eSIM ready?
Two things decide it: your phone must have eSIM hardware, and it must be carrier-unlocked.
Check your own phone
Open the dialler and enter *#06#. If an EID appears next to the IMEI, your phone has eSIM hardware. This beats any model list and never goes stale.
Carrier lock blocks it
eSIM hardware is not enough. A phone locked to a network — common with contract and instalment purchases — will refuse the profile. Ask your operator to unlock it before you travel.
Regional exceptions
iPhones sold in mainland China have no eSIM hardware. Some Samsung and Pixel variants differ by region and by the carrier that sold them, so run the *#06# check rather than trusting the model name.
If the EID check is unclear, message us with your exact model before you buy.
