Check your own phone first

Open the dialler and enter *#06#. If an EID appears alongside the IMEI, your phone has eSIM hardware. This is more reliable than any list and never goes out of date.

Dial *#06#

No EID means no eSIM — the phone cannot be made compatible with software.

A carrier-locked phone will not work

eSIM hardware is not enough. If your phone is locked to a network — common with contract and instalment purchases — it will refuse a SwipSIM profile even though it supports eSIM. Ask your operator to unlock it before you travel.

Regional exceptions

iPhones sold in mainland China have no eSIM hardware at all. Hong Kong and Macau models of some generations use dual physical SIM instead.
Samsung eSIM support varies by regional variant. Some Galaxy models sold in the US, China, Hong Kong and parts of Latin America ship without eSIM.
Older Google Pixel models depended on the carrier that sold them. Pixel eSIM was carrier-limited in many regions, so run the *#06# check rather than trusting the model number.
