Connectivity in Germany
Germany carries good coverage in its cities and along the Autobahn network, with long-distance trains remaining the more noticeable weak point — Deutsche Bahn routes still lose signal regularly in cuttings, tunnels and forested stretches between major stations. Cash remains more commonly used here than in several neighbouring countries, so data tends to matter less for payments and more for transport apps, train status checks and messaging. Rural Bavaria and the eastern countryside beyond the main cities vary noticeably, with smaller towns often fine and the roads between them less so. Visitors moving between cities such as Berlin, Munich and Cologne by train tend to use more data checking connections and platform changes than those staying put in one place.
Coverage and hotspot
These plans run on the operators listed above. Coverage follows those networks, so it is strongest in cities and along main routes.
Hotspot: we can't confirm this for this plan — message us before you buy if you need to share your connection.

Before you buy
Is your phone eSIM ready?
Two things decide it: your phone must have eSIM hardware, and it must be carrier-unlocked.
Check your own phone
Open the dialler and enter *#06#. If an EID appears next to the IMEI, your phone has eSIM hardware. This beats any model list and never goes stale.
Carrier lock blocks it
eSIM hardware is not enough. A phone locked to a network — common with contract and instalment purchases — will refuse the profile. Ask your operator to unlock it before you travel.
Regional exceptions
iPhones sold in mainland China have no eSIM hardware. Some Samsung and Pixel variants differ by region and by the carrier that sold them, so run the *#06# check rather than trusting the model name.
If the EID check is unclear, message us with your exact model before you buy.
